Bangkok - A tour bus overturned Monday on a notoriously dangerous curve in southern Thailand, killing four passengers and injuring 10, police said.

The bus's back tyre burst in the pre-dawn accident as it was taking the sharp curve in the Kraburi district of Ranong province, 400 kilometres south of Bangkok, causing the bus to fall on its side, Senior Sergeant Amnuay U-Sathorn said.

'There have been so many accidents at this spot that local people call it the curve of 100 corpses,' Amnuay said in a telephone interview.

There were no foreign tourists aboard the bus, which was travelling from Bangkok to Ranong city.
