Hi,
we arrive at Southern Bus Terminal in Bangkok from Kanchanaburi and need to go to Suvarnabhumi Airport.
We know, that we have to take Bus No 556, but we don't know, how long does it takes to the airport or if it's better to catch a taxi at Southern Bus Terminal.
We hope, you can help us.
Many thanks.

maybe this still comes on time:
WHEN it finally starts running the bus 556 is nearly as quick as a taxi-but as its 50 kms and partly via dense cityroads-the trip takes 80 mins MINIMUM-more in peaktimes-you neglected to tell what timer you arr approx here in BKK. But the problem is: it ONLY runs hourly daytime-and you never know when.
Also from this bus you have to change to shuttlebus to reach air-terminal.
TAXI;'s from Sai Thai are NOTORIOUS for not willing to use meter and asking high prices=to Thai as well as to farang. you may do better to not use big bus but minibus that ends near sanam Luang-Khao sarn to BKK-and change to shuttle van, airportbus or 556 from there.
