The new Route 901 SmartBus service will commence on Monday 24 March, 2008, running from Ringwood to Frankston, along Stud and Dandenong-Frankston roads.

The service will be free to passengers for the first two weeks of operation – Monday 24 March to Sunday, 6 April 2008.

Several SmartBus services already operate across the outer suburbs of Melbourne and passenger numbers keep growing as people discover that their local SmartBus is a smarter, more convenient way to travel.

This new premium service will greatly improve local transport options in Melbourne’s outer-eastern suburbs, providing connections to:

Ringwood Railway Station
Knox City Shopping Centre
Stud Park Shopping Centre
Dandenong Railway Station
Frankston Railway Station

Please note: the Route 901 SmartBus will replace Route 665 from Ringwood to Dandenong and Routes 830/831 from Dandenong to Frankston. Route 832 has been altered and a new route (833) has been introduced to cover areas that were previously covered by 830/831 before the commencement of the SmartBus service.

New Route 901 Ringwood - Frankston via Knox City, Rowville, Dandenong & Carrum Downs (Smartbus) new bus timetables with metlink pocket format & wheelchair symbol dated 24 March, 2008.

New style route maps show separates into two show map A Ringwood to Dandenong & map B North Dandenong to Frankston.

Every 30 minutes from before 5am to 6am then every 15 minutes from 6am to 9pm then every 30 minutes from 9pm to after 12.00am Monday to Friday, every 30 minutes Saturday & Public Holidays from before 6am to after 12.00am & every 30 minutes beore 7am to after 9.30pm Sunday, Good Friday & Xmas Day.

Route 901 replace routes 665 & 830/831.

Routes 665 & 831 will be finish on Sunday 23rd March, 2008 & route 830 will be finish on Saturday 22 March, 2008.

Operation hours are:
Before 5am to after 12am Monday To Friday.
Before 6am to after 12am Saturday & Public Holidays.
Before 7am to after 9.30pm Sunday, Good Friday & Xmas Day.

Last bus from Ringwood to Frankston.
Monday To Friday - 11.32pm to Frankston & 12.02am to Dandenong (says on metlinkmelbourne website & Mistake show terminate at North Dandenong).
Saturday - 11.30pm to Frankston & 12.00am to Knox City.
Sunday - 9.00pm to Frankston & 9.30pm to Knox City.

Last bus from Frankston to Ringwood.
Monday To Friday - 11.30pm to Ringwood & 12.00am to Dandenong.
Saturday - 11.45pm to Ringwood & 12.15am to Dandenong (Mistake on the pocket show says terminate at Carrum Downs It's should be terminate at Dandenong says on metlinkmelbourne website).
Sunday - 9.15pm to Ringwood & 9.45pm to Carrum Downs.

First bus from Frankston to Ringwood.
Monday to Friday - 4.55am from Frankston, 5.00am from Dandenong & 5.07am from Knox City.
Saturday - 6.15am from Frankston & 5.53am from Dandenong.
Sunday - 6.45am from Frankston, 6.53am from Dandenong & 6.55am from Knox City.

First bus from Ringwood to Frankston.
Monday to Friday - 5.00am from Ringwood, 5.05am from Dandenong & 5.04am from Carrum Downs.
Saturday - 6.00am from Ringwood, 5.55am from Knox City, 6.00am from Dandenong & 5.50am from Carrum Downs.
