I am an amputee and use an electric wheelchair. I know it wont fit in the compartment of thai trains however do the trunk routes....Hadyaii-bkk or bkk chiangmai have baggage cars where it could go....

Your biggest problem with travelling in a wheelchair is going to be the track level platforms on all of SRTs system. Also some stations have poor access i.e. its via the railway track or up or down many steps. But if you are heading from a major station to a major station then you should be ok.
Also the Baggage car does not have any aircon and does not have toilets. Also you would have to be lifted up 1 meter to gain access to any part of the SRT train. As the train floor and platform is not level.
The only Mass transport system in Thailand that has disabled and wheelchair access is the MRT subway and selected BTS stations in Bangkok. But in the years I have used these railways I have never seen a wheelchair passenger.
However If you can sit in a normal seat on the train and have a local friend to help you out then your electric wheelchair could be carried as cargo on the same train you are a passenger on. SRT is very likely to charge extra for this service but you never know they might let you put it in the baggage car free of charge.
But you will only be able to use selected loco hauled services as these have baggage cars none of the DMU services have baggage cars.
When you arrive in Bangkok you and your travelling companion are best to contact SRT rail on 1690 or go to the advanced booking office at Hualamphong station to make arrangements for your travel.
