Bus from Taling Chan to Bangkok Noi Railway Station

Would you tell me how I could join by bus Bangkok Noi Railway Station from Taling Chan floating market at week ends?
Many thanks

Walk down to Phran nok road wait on southern side and take Bus route 40 towards Pink Lao and get down after (Bangkok Noi - Taling Chan rd) and cross to the other side of the road and take Bus 79 direct to Taling chan Floating market.

Or take any train from Thon Buri (bangkok noi) SRT station to Bang Ramat station and walk back 500 odd meters to the market. There are 6 trains a day each way.

If coming from outside Bangkok get down at Bang Ramat station instead of Thonburi station.

Thank you for the information.
To be more precise we plan to come to Taling Chan floating market from Bangkok by bus 79 and we would like then to explore the area around Bangkok Noi St (temples, steam train museum, ...) and get back to Bangkok by the ferry.
May be there is an alternative to buses using a public(?) line boat and getting off at the pier close to the Thonburi railway station or on the other bank at the royal barges museum to have a look on them.

The so called "steam train museum" is not a museum but a working train depot and workshop so be careful when walking around inside. You are allowed to look inside but watch your step and the dogs at the back of the yard.

Yes if you want to walk about 1300 meters to Sirarj Hospital there is a boat pier there at the end of Phran nok road. The Thonburi railway station pier which is closer only operates during peak periods Monday to Friday. Both of the above piers have cross river ferries.

You would be best to get a taxi or tuk tuk to the pier as there is no direct bus from Thonburi station. Should be no more than 40 baht.

But id be wanting to avoid this area from 13 nov to 16 nov due to the royal cremation at Sanam Luang it will be chaos and overcrowded.

Thank you very much for your reply  Very Happy
Transport on regular boats canals seem really difficult to do ! but it'll be very easy for people when you'll have finished their map  Razz
we'll go to Bangkok on Christmas for a week, but we have already been last year here.
Do you think we wouldn' get to look for this kind of transport, if you don't speak Thaï ?
We could only go to the Thonburi team train museum (by the ferry and walking) then walking again to Sidudaram and Suwanaramm wat (and community bamboo)and back to Bangkok by the same way  ??
How could I protect me against dogs, I'll be afraid ! In France there is a spray to discard them, but in Bangkok, I don't know and you ?

And we could go on the Memorial Bridge and walk to see wat Pichaï Yatikaram, wat Prayoon, wat Kanlyanamit and see the life here.
I saw there is a fery from Kanlyanamit wat to the Rachini peer, but I don't know if it exists now ?, or you could  walk on Arun Amarin Road to Wat Arun, but is it dangerous for pedestrians ?
Excuse me for being too long writting you ! and Good Krathong ! Wink

I think you are a little busy, but I would like you to check the bus map N°79, I think that now it changed and go by Bang khun noi(from charat sanitwong)then go on to the taling chan market and continue very far after. Question
Thank you very much

Yes 79 operates via bangkok noi - talingchan road then the market and onwards to phutthamonthon sai 2. The route hasn't changed in the last couple of years. the market stop is on a curve get down there and walk to the left.

Once you know the system you don't need to speak much Thai to use it. The Klong boats and river boats are easy to use if its a regular route just say your stop and pay.

with the dogs bring the spray what is it called as i could really do with it to make rail yard photographing more fun.

If all else fails grab a stick and swing it at them they will cower or run away barking.

Your trip in this area seems to involve too much walking for me but yes you can do it but it will take you all day to complete minus your stops. 1 km walk = about 20 hard hot mins walk in Bangkok.

Thonburi yard to memorial bridge is a good 3 or 4 km walk. Bus 19 and 57 operates along that road just get down when you turn on to the main road near wong wien yai. or walk back to siriraj hospital and take a boat to memorial bridge.

Hello, I think that my problem is that  there are two  kinds of bus 79 "inbound" and "outbound" ??
I hope you go well  in spite of  politics problems in Bangkok !
excuse me for my bad english !
admin

That route information is ok it matches what i say about route 79. remember this route does not start at SRT's thonburi station but in Siam area under the BTS.

If your travelling now to Thailand id recommend a train from Malaysia to Bangkok instead of a flight due to the airport issue.
lubie

thank you very much, I have heard bangkok'sairport is blocked to day, but we leave Paris on Christmas day, and we have taken our plane tickets for a long time, so we'll see if we'll have to cancel our travel in Bangkok! but I hope not !! perhaps you could tell me later if I must cancel it ?!
anyway, I hope you're well in spite of politicals problems !
admin

At this stage don't cancel but be ready to buy a new ticket to KL and travel by Bus or train to and from Bangkok if this is not sorted out by then.

Lets all hope its sorted out soon.
