Airport bus routes

why don't they try having a number of different airport bus routes instead of the skybus.

eg something covering most of the major areas of Melbourne and not just the CBD. ie airport buses that are metro services not premium and form part of the normal system from places like ringwood, Doncaster, Werribee Dandenong Frankston. all these routes can operate on a 24/7 basis just the frequency changes during the day.

a similar system is used at suvarnbhumi airport with 12 different bus routes.
